Katrina’s extensive performing experience spans 30 years in the music industry as a jazz and contemporary vocalist. A graduate from the Elder Conservatorium of Music at the University of Adelaide in 1997, she established her career working the live music scene in Adelaide in the 90’s followed by several years in North Queensland as the lead vocalist for Magnetic Drum. Her performances cemented her role as one of Australia’s leading jazz vocalists having the privilege of performing with artists such as George Golla and Don Burrows, at the Palmer Street and Magnetic Island Jazz Festivals. She was also a regular feature artist with the 5RAR Big Band based in Townsville for special events and tours. 

Upon return to South Australia in 2005, she achieved national recognition as lead singer of Etypejazz. The band worked broadly in the live music scene throughout Adelaide presenting shows in the Adelaide Fringe and Cabaret festivals as well as supporting touring international artists and entertainment at large corporate and private functions.

Etypejazz recorded and independently released 11 albums throughout their career to critical acclaim and toured extensively throughout Australia and internationally. Her career highlights include touring with G’day USA in LA and New York in 2008 and 2009, sold out Fringe and Cabaret shows, Carols by Candlelight, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra performance conducted by Maestro Tommy Tyco and supporting international artists such as Sting during his Symphonicity Tour. Katrina’s recent shows have included Songs of Classic Hollywood with esteemed Musical Director Kym Purling, the Kym Purling Trio and international jazz vocalist Anita Wardell

ANATS SA & NT

Katrina is currently the President of ANATS ( Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing) SA and NT Chapter. She strongly upholds its philosophy to connect, educate and support all singing teachers. Her role as President includes supporting emerging singing teachers to access high quality professional development through its wide national and international membership.
